Special Classes and Events:
Weekend with Born I
March 21 — Half-Day Retreat
9am-12pm
Being Enough: Self-Compassion as a Path to Healing Our World
In this half-day retreat, Ofosu Jones-Quartey (Born I) invites participants into a spacious and accessible exploration of self-compassion as a lived spiritual practice. Through a balance of guided and silent meditation, periods of optional gentle movement, and a Dharma talk rooted in Buddhist teachings, we will explore how learning to rest in our inherent worth can become a foundation for personal healing and collective care.
Drawing reflections from his acclaimed book Lyrical Dharma, Ofosu weaves together contemplative practice, lived experience, and poetic insight to offer a retreat that meets participants exactly where they are, whether new to meditation or returning to practice.
This retreat is open to all and designed to support nervous system regulation, self-kindness, and a deeper sense of belonging in ourselves and in the world.
March 22 — Sunday Services & Soundbath Event
Dharma Talks at First & Second Services
Being Enough - Everyday Life is The Way
Across both Sunday services, Ofosu will offer Dharma talks exploring mindfulness, compassion, and the practice of presence in the midst of real life - family, work, struggle, and joy. These talks draw from Buddhist teachings, contemporary experience, and poetic reflection, offering grounded insight for integrating practice into daily living.
Afternoon Offering 1-2:30pm
Hip-Hop Soundbath: Music & Meditation
Join Ofosu (Born I) for a special concert - an experience that blends sound healing with contemplative hip-hop. Participants are invited to rest and receive as crystal singing bowls, ambient sound, and breath open space for stillness and reflection.
Interwoven throughout the soundbath is contemplative hip-hop from Ofosu’s album Komorebi, creating a unique bridge between ancient practice and modern expression. The result is an experience that is meditative, musical, and emotionally resonant, accessible to longtime practitioners and newcomers alike.
A Q&A and Book Signing will follow the concert.
No previous meditation or sound-healing experience is necessary.
Love Offerings accepted.
